Christmas Forecast Results

The Weather Alternative's long-range forecast for December 23-26 was posted on November 23, 2008. The Great Plains and the East Coast were highlighted for important weather action. It read as follows:

Dec 23-26

Mercury’s sextile and trine to Uranus and Saturn, which are paired up over the Great Plains, will bring abruptly falling temperatures courtesy of a northwest wind. At the same time, Mars runs along the length of the East Coast as it aspects Mercury. This duo is known for exciting sudden bursts of whipping winds. This may materialize as the result of a low pressure area or front pushing eastward toward the coast.

Results

The Weather Channel map above for December 23rd shows a low pressure area over the Plains and windy conditions. They reported "Wintry weather is on the way once again for portions of the Central U.S. A storm system developing in the Central Plains will bring snow over the Upper Midwest, freezing rain...from eastern Kansas into the Ohio Valley, snow...along the southern Great Lakes tonight, with a wintry mix from eastern Kansas through...Missouri,...Illinois,... Indiana,...Ohio,...Michigan. Freezing rain...from eastern Oklahoma through Arkansas to western Tennessee... Winds will also become an issue as the area of low pressure deepens and moves eastward.

The second part of the forecast mentioned a low pressure area and/or front pushing toward the East Coast and generating whipping winds.

The Weather Channel map at right for December 25th shows the low pressure area over eastern Canada and a cold front along the length of the East Coast.

The National Weather Service posted wind warnings on December 23rd and 24th for New York State, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC, West Virginia, Massachusetts, Maine, Georgia, and Virginia.

Eclipse Activation Affects Weather On Both Coasts

Solar eclipses are known to have about a 3 year "life span." For long-range weather forecasting, this means that, within that 3 year or so period, outer planets can trigger the eclipse and the atmosphere will react according to the influence of the planets involved in the activation.

The Weather Alternative issued a forecast 3 months ago on September 23rd noting that the solar eclipse of March 18th, 2007 would be triggered on December 19th by the Last Quarter Moon. The forecast stated that "This may trigger a storm system or front over western Canada and pushing into the Pacific Northwest. After the 21st temperatures should increase over the mid-Atlantic states leading to storms."

The Accuweather map above, shows the storm hitting Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Accuweather calls it a major storm which will easily bring several inches of snow to Seattle by Sunday night and 1 to 2 feet of snow for the mountains.

Stormy conditions were also mentioned in the forecast for the mid-Atlantic area after the 21st. There will be no increase in temperatures before the storm, however. Accuweather is calling for three to six inches of snow to accumulate in southern New York state and northern Pennsylvania, especially in the higher elevations. The weather will deteriorate by Sunday morning (Dec 21). Then bitterly cold air will also pour in after the storm, leading up to the holiday.

The Weather Channel explains that "As one storm system weakens around the Great Lakes, another one will form off the Middle Atlantic Coast and will move northeastward and intensify as it makes quick time toward the Canadian Maritimes."

Saint Nick

Nicholas was born of wealthy parents in A.D. 280 in the village of Patara. At the time the area was Greek, and is now on the southern coast of Turkey. He lost his parents early to an epidemic, but not before they had instilled in him the gift of faith. Then Nicholas went to Myra and lived a life full of sacrifice and love and the spirit of Jesus. Nicholas became so Christlike that when the town needed a bishop, he was elected. He was imprisoned for his faith by Emperor Diocletian and released later by Emperor Constantine.

There have been many stories of his generosity and compassion: how he begged for food for the poor, and how he would give girls money so that they would have a dowry to get a husband. The story most often repeated was about how he would don a disguise and go out and give gifts to poor children. He gave away everything he had, and he died around 345. His body was later moved to Bari, Italy, where his remains are to this day.

But the story of Nicholas has spread around the world. Within a century of his death he was celebrated as a saint. There are more churches in the world named after St. Nicholas than any other person in the history of the church.

People have also done strange things to him. Poet Clement Moore gave him a red nose and eight tiny reindeer. And Thomas Nast, the illustrator, made him big and fat and gave him a red suit trimmed by fur. And others have given him names, like Santa Claus. But what’s important about St. Nicholas is that he had the mind of Christ. Because of his gentle, selfless love, he touched the whole world. And this same mind of Christ can be in us.—James Hewett

Warm Weather Wash Out

The Weather Alternative's long-range forecast for December 15-17 calling for warm temperatures and southerly air flows over the eastern Plains and Mississippi Valley was washed out by the recent frigid temperatures over the country's midsection.

On the 16th, there was somewhat of a warm up over the Gulf of Mexico but nothing of the magnitude I had expected over the eastern Plains and Mississippi Valley.

From an astrological standpoint, this is usually due to the fact that one of the key charts is superseded by another. For example, sometimes an eclipse chart will become activated by an outer planet and overrides the Solar Ingress chart. I've been unable to research this specific example due to problems with my software program.

The next Weather Alternative forecast for Dec 18-22, 2008 is shaping up, however. This forecast stated The Last Quarter Moon of Dec 19th opposes and squares this Solar Eclipse degree. This may trigger a storm system or front over western Canada and pushing into the Pacific Northwest.After the 21st temperatures should increase over the mid-Atlantic states leading to storms.

Accuweather reports that "Wednesday night (17th) and Thursday (18th), a storm will run along the arctic boundary, producing snow from Seattle to Pocatello, Idaho. Low elevations will get 1 to 3 inches of snow from this winter storm, while the high mountains can expect over a foot.

I'll continue to post the rest of the results as we get closer toward the 21st.

Christmas

It is not generally known that St. Francis of Assisi was responsible for that popular feature of the Christmas season--the manger scene. It came about because of his longing to make the great truths of the Spirit real to the ordinary person.

A candymaker in the state of Indiana in the USA wanted to make a candy that would represent God's Message to us, so he made the Christmas candy cane. In that simple shape, he incorporated several symbols for the birth, ministry, and death of Jesus Christ.

He began with a stick of pure white, hard candy--white to symbolize the virgin birth and the sinless nature of Jesus; and hard to symbolize the solid rock of faith and the firmness of the promises of God.

The candymaker made the candy in the form of a "J" to represent the precious Name of Jesus, Who came to Earth as our Savior. It could also represent the staff of the "Good Shepherd" with which He reaches down into the ditches of the world to lift out the fallen lambs.

Thinking that the candy looked somewhat plain, the candymaker stained it with four red stripes. He used three small stripes to show the stripes of the scourging Jesus received, by which we are healed. The single large red stripe was for the blood shed by Him on the cross so that we could have the promise of eternal life.

The candy became known as the candy cane--a familiar decoration seen at Christmas time, though few understand its intended symbolism. For us it can serve as a reminder of the wonder of Jesus coming down at Christmas and His great Love that remains the ultimate and dominant positive force in the universe today.

East and West Coast Predictions On Target

The wild weather affecting the East Coast with heavy rain from Virginia to New England as well as ice and snow in some locations is a direct fulfillment of The Weather Alternative's long-range forecast for December 10-13, 2008. The forecast issued on November 23rd read as follows:

More cold, and stormy conditions are indicated for the New England area as the Sun and Mars square Uranus, which now occupies the 68th degree of west longitude over Maine and eastern Canada. The Mars-Uranus square is particularly turbulent as it is known for exciting acute and energetic storm systems. The Full Moon on the 13th also squares Saturn, another cold and tempestuous influence. Saturn is over the 66th degree of west longitude through Nova Scotia.

Advisories, which include warnings for heavy rain over Nova Scotia, and significant amounts of snow over southeastern Quebec, are being issued by Canada's Weather Service.

The same forecast stated:

In direct contrast to the cold and stormy conditions over the eastern United States, the Venus-Jupiter parallel affecting the West Coast and Great Basin areas, should bring seasonally warm temperatures to the western U.S.

Yesterday, the Weather Channel reported that "Mostly dry and warm conditions are expected across the West." Today their report read "High temperatures will be near to above average for the season."

Once a king dreamed that all his teeth had fallen out. Immediately he sent for one of his soothsayers to interpret the meaning of the vision. With a sad countenance & mournful voice, the soothsayer told the monarch that the dream meant that all his relatives would die & that he would be left alone. This angered the king & he drove the servant from his presence.

Another was called & the king told him of the dream. At this, the wise man smiled, & replied, "Rejoice, O King; the dream means that you will live yet many years. In fact you will outlive all your relatives." This pleased the king a great deal, & in his joy he gave the interpreter a rich reward. The two men had said, in different ways, the same thing.

Eastern Coastal Storm and Western Forecast Results

Conventional forecasters are warning that the coldest air mass in several years for December will strike the eastern half of the U.S. behind a low pressure system over the Great Lakes area. The low will then transfer its energy to a coastal storm brewing off shore, which will brush southeastern New England while heavy snow spreads into eastern Maine. Strong northwest winds will add to the chill across New York and the Mid-Atlantic and then New England. (see Accuweather map at left)

The Weather Alternative long-range forecast for December 4-6, 2008 advised of a major storm system over the Northeast and New England areas. Cold and windy conditions were pointed out due to the Mercury-Uranus square.

In another long-range forecast posted on September 30, 2008, a potent storm was foreseen for the Pacific Northwest and California between November 29-December 4, 2008.

On December 1st, forecasters called for strong winds to spread across the Intermountain West and posted wind and snow-related warnings for Montana and Wyoming.

Then on December 2nd, a storm system moving out of the Pacific Northwest collided with another system over western Canada. The result was widespread snow across the Intermountain West. (see Accuweather map at right)

Children

I took a piece of plastic clay
And idly fashioned it one day;
And as my fingers pressed it still,
It moved & yielded at my will.

I came again when days were past,
The form I gave it still it bore,
And as my fingers pressed it still,
I could change that form no more.

I took a piece of living clay,
And gently formed it day by day,
And molded with my power & art,
A young child's soft & yielding heart.

I came again when days were gone;
It was a man I looked upon,
He still that early impress bore,
And I could change it never more.

It is good to remember that Washington was one of ten children, John Wesley of twenty-one children, Shakespeare one of eight, Sir Walter Scott one of eleven, Benjamin Franklin was the tenth, Lyman Beecher, father of Harriet Beecher-Stowe, was one of thirteen & the most puny baby of them all. Tennyson was one of twelve, & Catherine of Siena one of twenty-two.

East Coast and West Coast Storms

The Weather Alternative's long-range forecast for November 25-27, 2008 foretold of two storm systems. One was to hit the eastern portions of Canada, namely Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, and the other to hit the Pacific Northwest. The forecasts were posted on October 27th, 2008.

The accompanying Weather Channel map for Nov 26, shows a strong low pressure area over the northeastern United States and southeastern Canada. The long-range forecast for Nova Scotia and Newfoundland stated Strong storms and high winds are slated to hit these areas now.

The following weather warnings were posted yesterday (Nov 25) by Canada's weather service.

A vigorous frontal trough of low pressure will cross Nova Scotia during the day Wednesday. East to southeasterly winds gusting to 100 km/h from Margaree Harbour to bay st. Lawrence are expected to develop Wednesday afternoon or evening.

This is a warning that potentially hazardous winds are expected or occurring in the Wreckhouse area of southwestern Newfoundland. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system will develop off Cape Cod early Wednesday and move to lie near Sable Island by evening. Strong southeasterly winds of 90 gusting to 150 km/h will develop in the Wreckhouse area on Wednesday evening ahead of a warm front associated with the low.

As far as the storm system to hit the Pacific Northwest, the Accuweather map at right for Wednesday, Nov 26th shows a low-pressure system hitting southern California. According to Accuweather, Subtropical moisture will continue to be forced northeastward into the Southwestern states on Wednesday as a storm in the upper levels of the atmosphere sits just off the California coast...Mudslides are a concern across parts of California where there has been recent fire, especially over the hilly terrain as there will be little, if any, vegetation to prevent massive erosion.

The forecast, however, called for a storm to hit the Pacific Northwest, not southern California. The Accuweather map at left shows that some rain will affect the Pacific Northwest on the 27th.

December 2008 Forecasts

The following long-range weather forecasts area based on indications in the seasonal Solar Ingress maps for the fall and winter seasons.

Dec 4-6
Saturn has established residency over the Northeast and New England areas for the fall season. This, coupled along with the Sun-Mars conjunction at the time of the First Quarter Moon promises a major storm system over the aforementioned area of the country. Mercury’s square to Uranus will add cold, and windy conditions to the mix.

Dec 10-13
More cold, and stormy conditions are indicated for the New England area as the Sun and Mars square Uranus, which now occupies the 68th degree of west longitude over Maine and eastern Canada. The Mars-Uranus square is particularly turbulent as it is known for exciting acute and energetic storm systems. The Full Moon on the 13th also squares Saturn, another cold and tempestuous influence. Saturn is over the 66th degree of west longitude through Nova Scotia.

In direct contrast to the cold and stormy conditions over the eastern United States, the Venus-Jupiter parallel affecting the West Coast and Great Basin areas, should bring seasonally warm temperatures to the western U.S.

Dec 15-17
The eastern Plains and Mississippi River Valley will warm under the rays of Mars and Neptune as southerly winds prevail. During cold months, this combination brings thaws and fog.

Winter
Winter should be brutally cold over the nation’s midsection due to the presence of Saturn and Uranus in the seasonal map.

Dec 27-30
A strong cold front presses toward the East Coast and moves offshore. Nova Scotia, most likely, will wrestle with stormy conditions.

Dec 31-Jan 02, 2009
The Old Year goes out with Saturn’s retrograde station. This will directly affect the Northern Plains southward through Texas. Saturn’s role as the author of cold and damp conditions will now be felt as a cold Canadian air mass descends southward. If enough moisture is in place, precipitation will result.

Introduction to the Weather Alternative

How Long-Range Forecasts Are Made

For over a century, efforts have been made to explain scientific discoveries by a mid-19th century theory, known as "evolution." It has formed the foundation for many other theories, which also are not founded on scientific facts!

Restating them again, here are the two premises on which the various theories of evolution are based:

1 - This is the evolutionary formula for making a universe:
Nothing + nothing = two elements + time = 92 natural elements + time = all physical laws and a completely structured universe of galaxies, systems, stars, planets, and moons orbiting in perfect balance and order.

2 - This is the evolutionary formula for making life:
Dirt + water + time = living creatures.

Evolutionists theorize that the above two formulas can enable everything about us to make itself—with the exception of man-made things, such as automobiles or buildings. Complicated things, such as wooden boxes with nails in them, require thought, intelligence, and careful workmanship. But everything else about us in nature (such as hummingbirds and the human eye) is declared to be the result of accidental mishaps, random confusion, and time. You will not even need raw materials to begin with. They make themselves too. --Vance Ferrell

November Storm Fulfills Long-range Forecast

The Weather Alternative's long-range forecast for Nov 11-13, 2008 was posted on October 27th. The Sun's square to Neptune was quoted as the astronomical factor that would produce a low pressure system in and around Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas as it pushes into the East Central U.S.

As can be seen from the Weather Channel map for November 11th at right, the low pressure is centered over that very area.

On the 11th, up to 4 inches of rain were expected along the Texas coast to Louisiana. One to three inches of snow accumulated over north-central Nebraska to southwestern Minnesota.

The forecast also called for cold but fair conditions over eastern Canada and New England. On the 11th, the National Weather Service in Gray, Maine reported the following:

FOR TOMORROW... HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD IN FROM THE WEST. THIS WILL DRY THINGS OUT... LEADING TO A GOOD DEAL OF SUNSHINE. HOWEVER... IT WILL BE QUITE COLD. OUR FAIR WEATHER WILL CONTINUE WEDNESDAY NIGHT ... WITH TEMPERATURES FALLING INTO THE TEENS AND 20S BY DAYBREAK THURSDAY.

It is a remarkable fact that the basis of evolutionary theory was destroyed by seven scientific research findings,—before Charles Darwin first published the theory.

Carl Linn (Carolus Linnaeus, 1707-1778) was a scientist who classified immense numbers of living organisms. An earnest Creationist, he clearly saw that there were no halfway species. All plant and animal species were definite categories, separate from one another. Variation was possible within a species, and there were many sub-species. But there were no cross-overs from one species to another.

First Law of Thermodynamics (1847). Heinrich von Helmholtz stated the law of conservation of energy: The sum total of all matter will always remain the same. This law refutes several aspects of evolutionary theory.

Second Law of Thermodynamics (1850). R.J.E. Clausius stated the law of entropy: All systems will tend toward the most mathematically probable state, and eventually become totally random and disorganized In other words, everything runs down, wears out, and goes to pieces. This law totally eliminates the basic evolutionary theory that simple evolves into complex.

Guadeloupe Woman Found (1812). A fully modern human skeleton was found in the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe inside an immense slab of limestone, dated by modern geologists at 28 million years old. (More examples could be cited.) Human beings, just like those living today (but sometimes larger), have been found in very deep levels of strata.

Gregor Mendel (1822-1884) His experiments clearly showed that one species could not transmute into another one. A genetic barrier existed that could not be bridged. Mendel’s work laid the basis for modern genetics; and his discoveries effectively destroyed the basis for species evolution

Louis Pasteur (1822-1895) He performed his famous 1861 experiment, in which he disproved the theory of spontaneous generation. Life cannot arise from non-living materials.

August Friedrich Leopold Weismann (1834-1914) was a German biologist who disproved *Lamarck’s notion of "the inheritance of acquired characteristics." He is primarily remembered as the scientist who cut off the tails of 901 young white mice in 19 successive generations, yet each new generation was born with a full-length tail. The final generation, he reported, had tails as long as those originally measured on the first. (Evolutionists still teach that giraffes kept stretching their necks to reach higher branches, so their necks became longer!)

Plains Blizzard Fulfills Long-range Prediction

The blizzard conditions currently affecting the Plains are a fulfillment of The Weather Alternative's long-range prediction for Nov 4-7, 2008. The forecast was posted on Sept 23rd, 2008. The forecast called for a powerful storm-producing cold front over the Plains that would affect the Mississippi Valley.

Orthodox meteorologists are commenting today that blizzard conditions are affecting the Dakotas with more than 3 feet of snow over the Black Hills of South Dakota. Winds over 60 mph are creating whiteout conditions, closing highways, and knocking out power in the Dakotas and Nebraska. Strong storms hit Oklahoma on Wednesday and were expected to erupt in the lower Mississippi Valley today bringing heavy rain and wind.

The astrometeorological influence of Saturn's opposition to Uranus on Nov 4th is one of the key factors in the storm scenario.

Conventional meteorologists are just now eying a new winter storm that should emerge into the southern Plains on Monday (Nov 10th). This may fulfill another long-range prediction posted on The Weather Alternative on Oct 27, 2008. The forecast calls for a strong low pressure area that will most likely affect the area in and around Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas as it pushes into the East Central U.S. between Nov 11-13, 2008.

Recent Forecast Results

The Weather Alternative long-range forecast for October 28-31, 2008 called for possible cold and damp weather over the Rockies and a strong storm system or possible hurricane strike over the Mississippi Valley.

As can be seen from the Weather Channel map for Oct 30th at left, high pressure dominated both the areas in question during the forecast period. No severe weather was reported in either location.

The period of Nov 1-4, 2008 was also pinpointed for severe weather over the Northeast US and eastern Canada. As shown in the Accuweather map at right, a storm system is creeping northward and will arrive over the Northeast by Tuesday, Nov 4th.

Accuweather reports that "The storm will spread rain over the Delmarva on Tuesday, then the rest of the mid-Atlantic Tuesday night into Wednesday."

Canada's weather service reports today that for Newfoundland and Labrador "60 percent chance of showers overnight. Wind southwest 40 km/h gusting to 60."

The forecast also called for possible tropical activity south of Puerto Rico. However, no such activity has been reported.

The last portion of this forecast called for either "hurricane strike over the Baja area or a robust cold front lowering temperatures and producing strong storms throughout the western U.S."

Accuweather reports that since Friday (Oct 31st) storms have been affecting the Pacific Northwest and California. The Accuweather map at left shows the latest storm affecting the region.

Winds will also affect southern California and the Mexican weather service reports strong winds over the southern Baja.

Picture yourself as a stringed instrument. You’re beautiful, cleaned, polished, and ready to be played in an orchestra.

I’m your musician. I come and pick you up—the glorious instrument—and try you out. “Something isn’t right,” I say. “You need to be tuned.” “Oh no,” you think. “Tuning usually means tightening and twisting!” Yes, there is tightening, twisting, and then some testing, and maybe more tightening, twisting, and testing again—but soon melodious sounds flow from you—the instrument—and fill all the hearers with peace, joy, and happiness.

If I had tried to go through the performance without tuning you first, it would have caused you to sound discordant and out of key, and you would have lacked the harmony and peace that a tuned instrument brings. So while the tuning may cause a measure of stretching, pulling, and some pain or difficulty, in time it will bring about the beautiful sounds and harmonious melodies that will move and captivate the audience.

Trust Me, that I know what is best for you. Be happy for this time of tuning, because soon you will bring joy to the hearers.

November 2008 Forecasts

Nov 11-13
Jupiter’s sextile to Uranus brings cold but fair conditions to eastern Canada and New England, while the Sun’s square to Neptune at the time of the full moon will produce a major storm event over the Central U.S.
The Sun’s square to Neptune will pump a lot of moisture up over the Central Gulf States. A strong low pressure area will most likely affect the area in and around Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas as it pushes into the East Central U.S.
Nov 25-27
The Canadian provinces of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland will take a beating from the combined energies of the Sun conjunct Mercury, Mercury parallel Mars, and Mars parallel Jupiter. Strong storms and high winds are slated to hit these areas now. A strong cold front will also plow through the Pacific Northwest at this time.

Omar's Close Fulfillment

Hurricane Omar will be a very close fulfillment of The Weather Alternative's long-range forecast for October 16-19, 2008. The forecast, posted on September 23rd, mentioned how Mars would square the August 1, 2008 solar eclipse degree and result in a semi-tropical to tropical low pressure system south of Puerto Rico threatening the island with heavy downpours and flash flooding.

Accuweather reports tonight that Hurricane Omar will produce very heavy rainfall over Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands through Wednesday (Oct 15th). This is very close to The Weather Alternative's time frame.

The National Weather Service places Omar northeast of Puerto Rico by the morning of the 16th still in close proximity to Puerto Rico. I'll post the results of the rest of this long-range forecast in a few days.

What A Storm!!

A major storm is impacting the western United States this week end with heavy snow over Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming, and windy conditions over New Mexico, Arizona, and California northward to Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Sustained winds between 20 and 40 mph will be experienced with gusts exceeding 70 mph in a few locations.

The Full Moon of September 15th comes into play with this storm. At the time of full moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars were angular over the western U.S. at between 115 and 117 west longitude. Both Mercury and Venus were conjunct at 19 degrees Libra while Mars was close by at 17 degrees Libra. This troublesome trio is being activated as we speak. The transit Sun is at 19 degrees Libra today activating the storm potential.

The solar ingress map for the Fall season also placed a Mercury-Mars conjunction over the area promising windy conditions at times throughout the season.

The American Revolution was preceded by the great religious revival of the middle of the eighteenth century, which had its effect both in England and in the colonies. When the common people turned to the reading of the Bible . . . when they were stirred by a great revival . . . the way was prepared . . . It was because religion gave the people a new importance and a new glory that they demanded a new freedom and a new government. We cannot in our generation reject the cause and retain the result.

If the institutions they adopted are to survive, if the governments which they founded are to endure, it will be because the people continue to have similar religious beliefs. It is idle to discuss freedom and equality on any other basis. It is useless to expect substantial reforms from any other motive. They cannot be administered from without. They must come from within. That is why laws alone are so impotent. To enact or to repeal laws is not to secure real reform. It is necessary to take these problems directly to the individual . . . There will be obedience to law when the individual feels that government represents a divine authority.

It is these beliefs, these religious convictions, that represent the strength of America, the strength of all civilized society . . . It is righteousness alone which exalteth the nation . . .

Atmospheric Reactions to Solar Eclipse

Venus' square to the August 1, 2008 solar eclipse degree has produced the expected atmospheric reactions over portions of the U.S., Canada, and the tropics.

The Weather Alternative forecast for Sept 30-Oct 3, 2008 warned of a possible tropical wave south of Puerto Rico. It also called heavy rain over eastern Canada, and precipitation over the Northeast U.S.

Results

South of Puerto Rico

The National Weather Service reported yesterday AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH WILL APPROACH FROM THE EAST AND BEGIN MOVING OVER THE LOCAL AREA OVERNIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.MEANWHILE...A TROPICAL WAVE WILL MOVE SOUTH OF THE ISLAND. THESE SYSTEMS WILL COMBINE TO BRING AN INCREASE IN CLOUDINESS AND SHOWER ACTIVITY FROM TIME TO TIME ACROSS THE LOCAL AREA DURING THE WEEKEND.

Northeast U.S. and Eastern Canada

The Accuweather map at right, as well as the one above, shows
atmospheric conditions over the Northeast U.S. and eastern Canada on October 2nd and 3rd.
Accuweather reported that on the 2nd heavy rain fell across New England due to a low pressure area over Quebec.

The negative person gradually loses sight of reality. It’s not a sudden thing, but gradually, bit by bit, negative attitudes take over one area of his thoughts, then another, and then another. When you take in a negative thought, it colors your spirit just a bit. As you accept more and more negative thoughts, it begins to darken your spirit.

This process inverts your perceptions, and over time it causes you to begin seeing negative things as good and good things as negative. What is happening is that you are slowly slipping into the Enemy’s upside-down, inside-out perceptions.

August's Lunar Eclipse and November's Storm

The lunar eclipse of August 16, 2008 set up a trio of sensitive planetary energies over the Pacific Northwest and California. As seen in the accompanying astro-locality map at left, Saturn, Mercury, and Venus occupied the Midheaven, or were directly overhead at the time of eclipse.

These will be spurred into action between November 29th and December 4, 2008. The result should be a potent storm that plows into the area on the above mentioned dates.

Good-bye
Good-bye, proud world! I'm going home
Thou art not my friend, and I'm not thine.
Long through thy weary crowds I roam;
A river-ark on the ocean brine,
Long I've been tossed like the driven foam;
But now, proud world! I'm going home.

Good-bye to Flattery's fawning face;
To Grandeur with his wise grimace;
To upstart Wealth's averted eye;
To supple Office, low and high;
To crowded halls, to court and street;
To frozen hearts and hasting feet;
To those who go, and those who come;
Good-bye, proud world! I'm going home.

I am going to my own hearth-stone,
Bosomed in yon green hills alone,
--A secret nook in a pleasant land,
Whose groves the frolic fairies planned;
Where arches green, the livelong day,
Echo the blackbird's roundelay,
And vulgar feet have never trod
A spot that is sacred to thought and God.

O, when I am safe in my sylvan home,
I tread on the pride of Greece and Rome;
And when I am stretched beneath the pines,
Where the evening star so holy shines,
I laugh at the lore and the pride of man
At the sophist schools and the learned clan;
For what are they all, in their high conceit,
Where man in the bush with God may meet?

Solar Eclipse Activation Fall 2008 Part 1

The Solar Eclipse of August 1, 2008 will receive a series of aspects this fall that are considered as activation stimuli to the energies represented by the eclipse. The Sun and Moon ascended across the Northeast U.S. at the time of eclipse. Following are some of the dates when the eclipse will be spurred into action and some of the most likely weather scenarios that will result.

September 30-Oct 3, 2008
Transit Venus will square the eclipse degree on October 1st. While the planets from Mars on out to Pluto are usually considered the most potent triggers, this square from Venus may result in some weather activity. The area south of Puerto Rico, in and around 66 west longitude and 14 north latitude is likely to exhibit atmospheric instability at this time. This may take the form of a tropical wave or depression that could soak the Isla del Encanto (Puerto Rico). Since Venus is parallel Neptune at this time, eastern Canada (around 66 west/49 north) may also be subject to heavy rain. The Northeast U.S. will also see an increase in moisture leading to precipitation.

October 16-19, 2008
Mars squares the eclipse degree on the 17th as it parallels Neptune. Mars is more energetic in its influence. The same areas mentioned above i.e. the area south of Puerto Rico, eastern Canada, and the Northeast U.S. will experience strong weather patterns involving rising masses of very moist warm air, and semi-tropical to tropical low pressure systems. Hence, Puerto Rico may catch some strong rains as a potential tropical system develops south of the island. Strong low pressure systems resulting in heavy downpours and isolated flash floods may result over the Northeast U.S. and eastern Canada.

Nov 1-4, 2008
The Sun now squares the eclipse degree as it parallels Neptune. Once again, the area south of Puerto Rico bears watching for tropical storm genesis. The Northeast U.S. will be a target for severe storms as well as eastern Canada. One more area that should show an atmospheric reaction is area along the 114th line of west longitude. This takes in the central Baja California, the U.S. desert Southwest on into Idaho and Montana.
Severe weather is indicated over this area since it coincides with Saturn’s opposition to Uranus. This would suggest a possible tropical storm or hurricane strike over the Baja area or a robust cold front lowering temperatures and producing strong storms throughout the western U.S.

The Solar Eclipse of Sept 11, 2007

October 28-31, 2008
This Solar Eclipse is activated by Saturn’s conjunction on October 29th. The Sun and Moon ascended over the Rockies at the time. Saturn’s influence should trigger cold, and damp weather over the region. This may take the form of a major low pressure system. Since transit Mars is also sextile tranist Saturn this usually manifests as breezy or windy weather.
At the same time transit Mars is also parallel Pluto, which occupies the line of longitude along the far eastern Plains and Mississippi Valley (92 West). Pluto squares the ascendant along the entire length of the line. The area may be hit by a strong storm system or a tropical system that hits Louisiana.

The Solar Eclipse of March 18, 2007

Dec 18-22, 2008
The Last Quarter Moon of Dec 19th opposes and squares this Solar Eclipse degree. This may trigger a storm system or front over western Canada and pushing into the Pacific Northwest.
After the 21st temperatures should increase over the mid-Atlantic states leading to storms.

The Solar Eclipse of September 22, 2006

Nov 4-7, 2008
Pluto’s square to this Solar Eclipse degree is exact on Nov 5th but since Pluto lingers a long time at this degree, we might consider that the eclipse is active before then. The Sun-Moon line ran along 88 west longitude energizing the area from Mississippi and Alabama northward through the western Great Lakes. Pluto’s influence is of a cold nature and may correspond to a cold front pushing southward over the Great Lakes and triggering storms down the Mississippi Valley. Another scenario entails a tropical system hitting the Gulf Coast around Mississippi and Alabama.
Since Saturn opposes Uranus on the 4th and these fall over the western Plains in the Solar Eclipse chart, a powerful storm-producing cold front may push through the area.

Dream a little dream--and pay attention
By Don Oldenburg, The Washington Post

The dream always started the same way: She walked up to the same gallery on the same street and looked over the ceramic art in the front window. Then she went inside and examined the beautiful clay sculptures on display.

"Each time I went into the gallery there were different pieces," says Grace Lewis, a potter who, starting in 1987, revisited her "gallery dream" about twice a week for five years.
Lewis soon began turning out the dream artworks in her studio. After she completed nearly 75 of the sculptures, her gallery dream stopped returning. "It just broke my heart," she says, "but I think my subconscious had other things it needed to tell me."

By other things, Lewis refers to the persistent cancer dreams. They stopped almost a year later, after she finally persuaded a skeptical doctor to conduct tests that confirmed she did, indeed, have cancer. The dreams caught it in time.

"Dreams are a lot more powerful than people like to give credit," says Lewis, conceding she probably wouldn't believe her own story if it hadn't happened to her. "They would tell us all sorts of things about ourselves if we paid attention to them."

Most people don't pay attention to their dreams. They dismiss them as sleeptime fictions or insist they don't dream at all. The traditional Western attitude toward dreaming can be summed up by the popular invective "in your dreams." Translation: "Never going to happen."
But, beyond a wealth of anecdotal testimony that for centuries has attributed remarkable value to dreams, there is mounting scientific evidence of their practical worth in solving real-life problems, gaining poignant insights and boosting creativity.

"The potential is limitless," says Karen Shanor, co-author of the 1999 book The Emerging Mind (Renaissance Books), a survey of research in the meaning of consciousness.
The noted sleep and dream expert William C. Dement tells of a dream he had 35 years ago that he believes saved his life. Then a heavy smoker, he had a vivid dream in which he was diagnosed with lung cancer. "I could barely breathe," he writes. "My life was over … and then I woke up." He says he has never lit another cigarette since.

History is replete with Nobel Prize winners, famous inventors and acclaimed authors and artists whose dreams unlocked their creativity and solved impenetrable problems. Sewing machine inventor Elias Howe credited a dream with inspiring his needle with the hole at the pointed end. Golfing great Jack Nicklaus dreamed a revised golf grip that improved his game by 10 strokes.
"I can't explain this phenomenon by means of science," says Russian mathematician Alexander A. Zenkin, who refers to his discoveries from dreaming as his "voice of night."

While a lecturer at Moscow State University in 1971, Zenkin tried fruitlessly for months to find a proof of mathematics' classical Waring's Problem. Frustrated, he stopped thinking about it--only to awaken one morning "with a happy feeling that I have the proof."

He sat at a table and wrote nonstop for seven hours--producing 18 mistake-free pages of "absolutely new ideas, methods, theorems." "I felt as if somebody dictated to me," he says, explaining that he didn't remember the work in his dreams that night, only the solution that morning. Since then, he has been revisited by his voice of night.

Sept 7-10, 2008 Forecast Results

With all the attention that Hurricane Ike was getting, here's one forecast result that got overlooked.

The Weather Alternative forecast for September 7-10 expected cool but fair weather over the Rockies due to Jupiter's trine to Saturn.

On the 7th, Accuweather reported "The northern Rockies and the West Coast will see some cooler conditions with a slight dip in the jet stream over the area...cooler weather will be found over the northern Rockies with a front moving off to the east. "

On the 9th, the Weather Channel reported "Afternoon highs across the region (Rockies) are expected to stay cooler than they were over the weekend.

Hurricane Ike Fulfills Long-range Forecast

Hurricane Ike's arrival over eastern Texas on September 12th and 13th fulfilled The Weather Alternative's long-range weather forecast posted on May 12th of this year. The forecast called for possible tropical storm or hurricane formation in the western Gulf of Mexico between September 9th and 14th.

A more recent post (Sept 7) pinpointed Ike's landfall over eastern Texas. Conventional forecasters were somewhat perplexed as to Ike's track. As can be seen from the National Weather Service map for Sept 9th, the main track they thought Ike would take was further to the southwest. The Weather Alternative post stated It seems like the greater danger lies over eastern Texas.

It also seems that Ike's arrival over the Northeast and New England on Sept 15th and 16th may fulfill another Weather Alternative long-range forecast. This one was posted on June 13th and stated:

Sept 14-18

The conjunction of Mercury and Venus over the New England area keeps the astro-meteorological window open for tropical storm/hurricane activity to affect the region or for severe thunderstorms to afflict the area.

Where Is Ike Headed?

Conventional forecasters see Hurricane Ike headed into the Gulf of Mexico and close to the Gulf Coast around the 12th of September. I would say that the astrological factors involved at that time would back their forecast. Let's look at the astro-locality map for the First Quarter Moon of September 7th.

You'll notice the area I've circled over eastern Texas. These crossings of planetary lines are important. The yellow line represents Jupiter's position and the two white lines represent Mercury and Mars. Both Mercury and Mars will square Jupiter and then conjoin each other between Sept 7th and 8th. This is somewhat before Ike would arrive. The original crossings will be activated again around the 14th. This will probably coincide with Ike's arrival. So one good possibility is that Ike hits southeast Texas around the 14th.

The current lunar eclipse chart shows some of these same planets over the Florida Panhandle. As is usual with strong hurricanes, they usually affect a big area. It seems like the greater danger lies over eastern Texas. I will check you some other charts and see if anything else turns up.

P.S. I almost overlooked my own forecast for Sept 9-14 posted in the Summer 2008: The Plains and Mississippi Valley- Part 1 section posted in May. It read:

Another cold wave begins to affect the Plains triggering precipitation. From the 12th on, the Sun's opposition to Uranus brings a cold air mass out of the north lowering temperatures and setting off storms, which have the potential to reach severe limits. Possible tropical storm or hurricane formation is indicated in the western Gulf of Mexico.

Hanna, Ike, and Other Predictions

Tropical Storm Hanna is forecast to strike the Carolina coast somewhere between Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Wilmington, N.C. today according to Accuweather.com. This will fulfill The Weather Alternative long-range forecast for Sept 6-9 issued on June 13th of this year.

Hurricane Ike is next in line, and according to the National Weather Service's projected path will round the Florida Peninsula and head into the Gulf of Mexico. Accuweather, on the other hand, foresees Ike following more or less the same path as Hanna along the East Coast.

There are two long-range Weather Alternative forecasts that come into play here. One for Sept 10-14 shows a stormy East Coast based on the Venus-Mars conjunction of Sept 11th. The other forecast for Sept 14-18 warns of tropical storm or hurricane activity over New England. (Read forecasts here) Ike may be the fulfillment of this latter forecast if it reaches the New England area between the 14th and and 18th.

Another Weather Alternative long-range forecast for Aug 29-Sept 4 called for a cold air mass to move in over the Rockies and to bring precipitation. The Accuweather Map at left shows the front entering the West Coast on Saturday, August 30th. The Weather Channel reported on the 29th:

The cold front will move into the Northwest this weekend...
readings in Washington and Oregon behind the front will be 5 to 15 degrees below average...Sunday and Monday, the cold front will continue to plow through the West. High temperatures will be 5 to 30 degrees below average over much of the region.
Showers and thunderstorms will cover a wide area from Montana to Arizona and New Mexico. Snow will fall in the higher elevations of the northern Rockies.

The Weather Alternative long-range forecast for Sept 3-7 read

Weather gets nasty over the Plains as Mercury and Mars parallel Uranus provoking windy conditions or severe thunderstorms packing damaging winds. Severe weather then pushes eastward over the Mississippi Valley.

So far this has coincided with Gustav's arrival over the Plains and Mississippi Valley area as can be seen on this Weather Channel map for Sept 4th. Gustav brought heavy rain, flooding, and tornado wathes and warnings to the mid-Mississippi Valley and western Great Lakes area as well as soaking rains to nearly all of Arkansas and portions of Mississippi, eastern Oklahoma, western Tennessee, and much of Missouri.

More On Gustav and Hanna

Gustav, a category 2 hurricane, hit the Louisiana coast today. Recently, I posted about the difference in Pluto's position in astro-locality maps, and how the "inmundo" position seemed to be more accurate than the "zodiacal" position. Gustav's arrival over Louisiana is another example of this.

The astro-locality map at left is for the New Moon of August 30th but with the planetary (inmundo) positions for September 1st. Notice the circled area over Louisiana where Mars, represented by the blue line, crosses with Pluto, represented by the white line. They make a convenient "X-marks-the -spot" over where Gustav made landfall. Planetary crossings such as these are important in weather forecasting as can be seen in previous posts. They don't happen all the time, but when they do they can be important. Mars is parallel Mercury today--a high wind breeder. Back in May when Cyclone Nargis hit Burma, it was under the aspect of Mercury parallel Mars.

In my last post, I discussed another forecast I had made for Aug 30-Sept 2. Mercury and Mars in the Solar Ingress were over Florida and the East Central States. I wanted to see if windy conditions would develop there as well or if it would just be high pressure. The Accuweather map at right shows that windy conditions associated with Gustav have affected the Florida Panhandle. On the 31st, The Weather Channel reported that rain from Gustav was also affecting the Florida Peninsula with the possibility of a tornado or two.

Another possibility that confirms windy conditions associated with the Mercury-Mars combo over the eastern portion of the country has to do with the Accuweather map at left that shows winds from over the Southeast U.S. shearing Tropical Storm Hanna.

Speaking of Tropical Storm Hanna, this next map issued today from the National Weather Service shows Hanna striking the Georgia-South Carolina state line around Friday, Sept 5th. If so, this will confirm my Sept 6-9 forecast issued in June of this year. The forecast called for a possible tropical storm or hurricane to make landfall over the Carolinas.

Sept 6-9
This is a very active period for the East Coast. Strong storms and high wind velocities are indicated for the mid-Atlantic area as Mercury, Venus, and Mars transit the area. Mars will parallel Uranus--a high wind breeder, and square Jupiter. Mercury also squares Jupiter and conjoins Mars--another wind maker. Lastly, Venus squares Jupiter and parallels Uranus. Tropical storm or hurricane landfall is possible over the Carolinas. If not a tropical system, powerful storms lash the mid-Atlantic and push eastward.
